The Composite Bonding Process: Precision Meets Artistry

Composite tooth bonding, otherwise known as tooth or dental bonding, is where a composite resin is used to restore and change the look and feel of damaged or misshapen teeth.

Composite tooth bonding can be used alongside other general dentistry treatments such as crown treatments and tooth whitening for a fully corrected and perfect smile that will get you grinning from ear to ear!

Our award-winning team of Banbury dentists combines decades of experience with state-of-the-art technology to deliver exceptional results that exceed your expectations.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the composite tooth bonding treatment work?

Composite tooth bonding is pain-free, simple and easy treatment which is normally completed within one session. The non-invasive procedure can quickly and effectively make cosmetic changes to your mouth and smile.

Our award-winning team of Banbury dentists will carry out the tooth bonding treatment by following a series of steps:

  1. Our dentists will compare the shades of the affected teeth and match the resin to your teeth for a smooth and seamless transition. Matching the resin to the tooth also ensures a natural look.
  2. To eliminate the risk of post-procedure infections, our dentists will conduct a dental hygiene treatment and thoroughly clean your teeth. This also helps better form the resin in your teeth.
  3. Depending on the severity of your case, dentists may need to remove any decayed or rotten parts of your teeth.
  4. After your teeth have been inspected and cleaned, your dentist will begin to prepare the bonded area of your tooth. A 30% phosphoric acid tooth conditioner is applied to the tooth, exactly where the resin will be. Removing the smooth surface of your tooth and preparing your tooth for the resin to form.
  5. A small brush is used to apply a thin layer of bonding agent to your tooth.
  6. Then the resin/composite material is applied directly to the prepared surface of the tooth and moulded to the desired shape and size.
  7. Once applied, composite material is placed under a UV light until it has hardened.
  8. Finally, your dentist may need to trim, polish, shape or layer the composite to ensure the final appearance is perfect.
How much does composite tooth bonding cost, and do you offer payment plans?

The cost of composite bonding varies depending on the number of teeth being treated and the complexity of your case. At 41 South Bar, we believe in complete transparency, so we’ll provide you with a detailed treatment plan and clear pricing information during your initial consultation. We offer various dental care plans to make your treatment more accessible, and our friendly reception team can discuss financing options that suit your budget.

How would you benefit from composite bonding?

Composite tooth bonding can help improve the appearance of your teeth, especially if you suffer from the following:

  • Spotted or discoloured teeth
  • Decaying teeth
  • Large gaps or spacing between your teeth
  • Exposed roots / receding gum line
  • Cosmetic issues
  • Chipped, broken or cracked teeth
  • Mismatched teeth lengths – composite bonding also lengthens teeth
  • Alternative to metallic or black fillings

Reviews

Went to 41 South Bar today on an emergency appointment with chronic toothache. Fully expected to have a tooth out and a hefty bill. But no, my tooth was saved and my pension was saved. I’ll be back.

Sue Price

Always professional, service with a big smile. Exceptional level of care delivered from every member of staff, very accommodating and generous with time afforded to go through every stage of care. Couldn’t recommend highly enough.

Been seeing Tom and his team for over twenty years. I have complete confidence that my teeth and gums are getting the best possible service. Highly recommended.

The treatment and care I received from every professional that I came into contact with at 41 South Bar was exceptional. Everyone was polite, friendly ad an excellent practitioner. Tom is an absolutely first class dentist with a pleasant “bed-side” manner. I am delighted with my implants. They couldn’t be better. Many thanks to all at 41 South Bar

My close family now all go to South Bar. I have been coming for years and the treatment has been excellent. My mum changed to Tom earlier this year and has been so delighted. She said she wished she had changed years ago. Even my dental phonic daughter in law travels from Reading to the practice.

Helen Hutchings

I have had implants and a crown done by Tom. He and his team are fantastic, I cannot recommend them highly enough. Tom is highly skilled and the facilities at South Bar are second to none. The quality of Tom’s work and his knowledge and expertise are superb Staff are so friendly and Tom is so thoughtful about his work. A model dental practice.

Tom was knowledgeable and helpful and friendly throughout. I have been suffering with pain in my teeth and Tom was able to provide a possible diagnosis and reassure me on many concerns that I have been having. The receptionists created a friendly atmosphere in the practice and they were helpful during phone calls.
