What Are Veneers & How Do They Work?
Veneers are thin, custom-made shells designed to cover the front surface of your teeth. They are either made from medical grade composite resin, similar to our composite tooth bonding treatments, or medical grade porcelain. These cosmetic veneers improve the appearance of tooth shape, colour, and alignment while maintaining a natural look and feel.
When you choose to fit veneers to your teeth, not only will you be gifted with a brand-new smile, but you will also benefit from the following:
- Veneers look and feel natural.
- Prevent further tooth discolouration, and when combined with teeth whitening, they help maintain a bright smile.
- Conceals chips, gaps, and discolouration effortlessly.
- Custom-designed to suit your smile and facial symmetry.
- Durable, stain-resistant, and crafted to last.
Low-maintenance veneers don’t need any additional care except traditional oral health care, brushing and flossing your teeth.
What to Expect During Your Veneer Treatment At 41 South Bar?
When you choose 41 South Bar for your veneer treatment, our team ensures a seamless and comfortable experience. Here’s what you can expect:
- Initial consultation & smile design: During your initial consultation, we will discuss with you what you want your teeth to look like, the shade of white etc. During this consultation, impressions are taken of your teeth and sent to the laboratory to create your veneer moulds.
- Tooth preparation & veneer placement: Your teeth are prepared for the veneers by gently trimming the enamel on the front of your tooth. Your dentist will also remove any areas of decay. Your tooth will be washed and prepared with a tooth conditioner and an acidic etching gel, creating a microscopic rough enamel surface that the veneer’s cement will bond to. A clear bonding agent/cement is applied to your teeth and on the underside of the veneer, which is then placed firmly on your prepared tooth.
- Final evaluation & aftercare advice: After the veneer is fully cured and attached to your teeth, we will evaluate how the veneers appear and clean any excess dust or bonding agent from your teeth. Your teeth can now be used as normal straight away. Our dental team provides detailed aftercare guidance to maintain your new smile.
